Mary Shelie Wilson

Mary Shelley Wilson is a children’s author whose stories are deeply rooted in the warmth of family, the beauty of country life, and the timeless lessons found in everyday moments. She lives with her husband on a peaceful ranch tucked away in a small canyon town in California, where rolling hills, open skies, and a lively collection of animals help inspire her imagination every day. Surrounded by horses, cows, pigs, goats, ducks, chickens, bunnies, and the simple joys of ranch life, Shelly has created a world that reflects the same warmth and wonder found within her books.

Raised on a dairy farm, Shelly developed a lifelong love for animals, storytelling, and close-knit family values from an early age. Her journey as a writer began naturally while raising her four children, as stories and ideas would often come to her during ordinary family moments. Encouraged by memories of her grandmother—who wrote poetry and shared stories with children through reading groups—Shelly found herself drawn toward creating stories that speak to young hearts in a meaningful and comforting way.

Beyond writing, Shelly enjoys an adventurous and joy-filled lifestyle. Whether she is riding horses through obstacle courses, exploring the mountains in her off-road vehicle, riding motorcycles with her husband, crafting with children, or spending time on the water, she embraces life with energy, humor, and gratitude. She also dedicates time to her local community through a children’s Good News Club, where she brings kids together through creativity, encouragement, and uplifting activities.

Shelly’s writing is guided by her belief that children learn best through stories filled with heart, hope, and imagination. Through her books, she hopes to encourage young readers to believe in themselves, work together, and understand that perseverance and kindness can overcome even the biggest challenges. Inspired by beloved classics like Charlotte’s Web, Shelly creates stories that celebrate compassion, resilience, friendship, and the enduring magic of childhood.
